  1. These Internet exchange points (IXPs) are the primary locations where different Internet providers connect in order to provide each other access to traffic originating on their different networks. By having a connection to these high speed and highly interconnected locations, a CDN provider is able to reduce costs and transit times in high.

Does CAD Exchanger Cloud require any installation?
CAD Exchanger Cloud is a browser-only solution with no installation required. It just takes a sign-up using an individual account and there you go. You can use your Google or other account if you like. You can check pre-uploaded sample 3D models or take advantage of the free plan to test drive the service.
How secure is data storage?
CAD Exchanger Cloud is deployed in Microsoft Azure which provides superior data security and encryption mechanisms. Using public clouds from leading cloud providers ensures security superior to what most small, medium or even enterprise companies can ensure themselves.
How is CAD Exchanger Cloud licensed?
CAD Exchanger Cloud is licensed under the traditional subscription model with monthly or annual payments.
How can I protect access to my files?
Under the paid plans you can set up fine-grain access to your individual files or folders. Access levels include: view only, download and convert, review and annotate, re-share with other users. You can provide individual access with different access levels to explicitly listed users, or common access to anyone with a link.
Under the free plan anyone with a link can access your data.
What is concurrent access?
Any user with a CAD Exchanger Cloud account and valid permission can join your review session and receive notifications in run-time. Annotations and review comments will automatically show up in everyone’s browser window.
Can I deploy an independent copy of CAD Exchanger Cloud to ensure isolated data access?
CAD Exchanger Cloud can be deployed as a fully independent copy on premise, inside your enterprise data center or in your private account inside a public cloud by Microsoft, Amazon, Google or alike. Contact us for conditions.
How can I upload (import) a file with external references?
If you need to upload a file with multiple external references (e.g. Solidworks .SLDASM with individual .SLDPRT files or central JT file with per-part JT files) then you need to put them into a single .zip file first. Otherwise, you will get either an empty assembly tree with broken references or a visually valid result which you will not be able to correctly export to other formats. For instance, Solidworks .SLDASM assembly without .SLDPRT does not contain precise geometry (which only resides in .SLDPRT) and thus export to STEP won’t be possible.
Is there an API for developers?

Across OneDrive and SharePoint, our vision is to provide simple and secure access to files wherever—and however—your team works. No matter your role, specialization, or industry, we’re always working to expand and connect with the content you find critical. Today, we’re announcing new integrations with Autodesk that allow you to connect AutoCAD and its drafting tools to DWG files stored in Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint.

For many teams focused on architecture, engineering, and manufacturing, computer-aided design (CAD) drawings are key to their workflow. By storing CAD drawings and DWG files in OneDrive and SharePoint, teams get the benefit of industry leading mobile and desktop applications, enterprise-grade compliance, and innovative collaboration capabilities. By tightly integrating tools and files together, tasks get simpler, you can stay in your flow, and you can integrate your data with business processes. For these teams, deeper connections between key business tools to files can transform how they work.

These new integrations with Autodesk—an innovator in the CAD industry—connect OneDrive and SharePoint to the drafting tools available through AutoCAD. As you work with DWG files across these applications, new integrated actions will allow you to open and edit DWG files in the AutoCAD desktop application, the AutoCAD mobile app, and the new AutoCAD web app—in just a few clicks.

Open and edit DWG files in the AutoCAD web application.

Design and draft with the AutoCAD web app

The AutoCAD web app lets you design and draft in AutoCAD on any computer. It gives you quick, anytime access to the latest drawings from anywhere without having AutoCAD installed on your machine. View, edit, and create CAD drawings in a simplified interface that runs in your local web browser. The AutoCAD web app is included with an AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT subscription.

The DWG file opens from SharePoint or OneDrive into the AutoCAD web app (web.autocad.com).

Of course, you can also open AutoCAD DWG files directly into the AutoCAD desktop application and use the full suite of tools, views, and workflows.

We’ll be gradually rolling this out to customers in late March 2019, starting today with OneDrive, and support for SharePoint coming in the following weeks. These integrations are just the beginning—Autodesk and Microsoft are exploring other ways to integrate and streamline productivity. We’re eager to hear your feedback on integrations in the CAD area and with AutoCAD products. Visit our UserVoice site and add your feedback.
